Sample Stitching

Sample stitching was very fun and was something I've always been interested in doing. It was a cool experience and it makes me want to play around with different genres of music to create something new. Overall, by using sampling, we are able to humanize technology. Other ways I think technology can be humanized is by using by chopping and screwing samples. This technique is most popular in hip hop. I feel that sampling differs then other musical creations because it involves creating something out of something already existing. Although I believe that with some things there is nothing new under the sun, sampling, if done efficiently, can sound like a brand new creation. What I found the most intriguing about this project is what I wanted my focus to be in each sample. Let's take for example the kick. Although I was focused on the percussion, I could've also focused on the guitar found within the sample. Truly the skies the limit.
