Audio Recording Assignment

Audio recordings are the literal basis for many genres of music. By using microphones, many sounds and instruments are able to be transformed into electricity so that it can be digitally captured. I have a condenser cardioid microphone that I use to sing in but for this project, I challenged myself to make instrumentals. Of course I had the help of my DAW for one of the audio tracks. Side note, I use FL Studio for the guitar bass line but Adobe Audition for everything else since I currently prefer using my microphone there.
For this short song (and I mean really short song) I wanted it to have a somber feel similar to Ariana Grande's No Tears Left to Cry. I first started with the guitar bass line that is heard in the beginning. For the second part of it, I recorded myself snapping and then added some reverb and eq on there. In the middle of the song there is a faint buzz, that buzz is actually my electric tooth brush with extreme reverb, phasers, eq, and of course transposed a couple keys down. Another percussion element that I used was from a box that I beat with my finger tips. Throughout the whole song I added background vocals and layered their harmonies to build and bring suspense. Overall, this was a very fun project and definitely pushed my creativity with the limited use of electronic instruments.
