Learning what synths are and how they work was a very interesting and fun process to go through. There is so much I learned about them such as manipulating their sound. Again in this process I surprised myself with terms that I were familiar with such as oscillation, amplitude, and filtering. Thanks to the tools by Ableton, there was much more that I learned about synths.

Using this tool by Ableton, I was interesting in so many things. It was shocking how many different sounds I was able to make through synths. Looking pack in previous music samples that I've used in the past made me realize that a lot of them weren't real instruments at all such as one of my favorite 808 samples. It was crazy how I was able to manipulate the sound to sound like different sirens. What really intrigues me the most is being able to uses synths for percussion. It seems to me that manipulating the sound to sound like a drums feels like a video game and personally reminds me of Chloe x Halle's sound throughout their EP "Sugar Symphony". I definitely want to play with synths some more to use them in R&B music. I definitely also want to play around with manipulating synths to sound like a bass guitar because I know that Charlie Puth uses that technique in some of his songs to sound more modern. Music is amazing!
