In the past, I have always thought about what my aesthetic would be. In my opinion, a good memorable artist should be rememberable while maintaining a unique presence. First is the sound. I have mentioned in posts before about the artist who I am similar to in terms of music. In case you haven't read them yet, here is the list below.
Artistically I am similar to:
India Arie (Vocals, Songwriting)
Clark Beckham (Vocals)
Charlin Neal (Low Vocals, Leadership)
Stevie Wonder (Vocals, Passion, Songwriting)
Tori Kelly (Vocals, Musicianship)
Chloe x Halle (Vocals, Production)
Luther Vandross (Vocals)
Ne-Yo (Songwriting, Production)
David Archuleta (Songwriting, Vocals, Cleanliness)
Usher (Entertainment)
In terms of fashion, there are quite some things I really like. One of my favorite things in the world are jackets. I love intricate and embroidered jacket with complex or shiny designs. Belmain is one of my favorite fashion companies because they have unique selections of clothes. I also love geometric African style clothes. These type of clothes make me think of having a fun and energetic time and that is one of the emotions that I want to portray when I perform. I also love capes and things that flow in the wind. I mainly love them for an emotional and dramatic input that they can add to a performance. In terms of pants, I always go with a more traditional color such as black to give a sleek impression. But it can change from time to time. Here below is a Pinterest board that is similar or has the aesthetic that I am currently going for.
Being an artist means that I have to be a trailblazer. But that doesn't mean that I can't draw inspiration from others. I know my aesthetic at the moment, but I also need to expect change and growth throughout the upcoming years.
