Don't Be So Pressed!

When it comes to press and blogs they can serve as wonderful tools to gain publicity as an artist or a band. Blogs also are great for promoting an upcoming show or tour. However, some upcoming artists or bands make the mistake of thinking that their only ways to press are from national media sources such as NPR and CNN. However, there are many opportunities to receive press from local and trade media sources. Down below are some blogs that I've found related to artists who I am somewhat similar to. Sonically I'm looking for blogs that are accepting of R&B, Funk, Hip Hop, Jazz, Indie, Folk, Acoustic, and other styles of music that are well suited with the voice.

Premiere for Chris B.
Hello Ear the Ground,
I am looking to premiere my new single, "On My Mind" that is reminiscent to Neyo and Chloe x Halle with an acoustic pop folk twist. "On My Mind" has been praised by (potential media and press) and continues to be a hit amongst my fans.
Produced by me, "On My Mind" has a chill yet minor tone accompanied by the harp and bass. Being a more upbeat song, it provides a sense of purpose while also containing a sad undertone. Lyrically, this song presents a struggle of breaking up with someone imaginary and never getting over those emotions. "Now that I miss you I shouldn't have let you go, to lose control," I sing with unique harmonies while a harp plays in the background. The end result is my willingness to let go while still keeping that person on my mind.

As with most things music, I am so excited to see what life of going to bring next. I thoroughly enjoy the blog world because it is a world to simply discover and explore new music and musicians that present quality music. Getting to congratulate a fellow artist on a new release feels great. And knowing that will be me soon feels even greater.
